I am here to build, create and accomplish.
I am a wild child, a straight shooter, a gypsy and a dreamer.
Inspiration is pulled from my observations of the spaces around me. Inspiration germinates from within and drives my spirit to be drawn to nature, animals and people.
I am a figurative artist whether my expression is realistic or abstract. The forms that I create emerge from my experiences. When I was four years old, I would hide to cut paper and make paper figures and shapes, I knew then that I would always be involved in the arts. In college, I was exposed to painting and loved that experience. Soon afterwards, I discovered sculpture then my focus shifted towards figurative work. This was exhilarating!
The tactile feeling of clay binds me to earth itself. This gives me intrinsic joy! Terracotta grants me a sense of being grounded and connected to a greater force. It touches my core. The cool wet clay allows me to dig deep into myself and bring out the essence of what the figure is revealing. The story of the figure can be seen, interpreted and understood by anyone who views the work.
Why create? One can not stop. There is a drive and a passion that pushes me to work. It’s not about rewards or accolades it’s about the love of the figure and the message that comes with it. It’s about the story that needs to be told. My desire is to be truthful in my expression and share the emotional connection that we have with nature and people. My goal is to share my vision with you.
